Held a Praying Safety Ceremony for the Construction of Tahara Biomass Power Plant

Tahara Bio-power LLC (hereinafter "TBP"), which is invested by private companies including JAPEX, held a praying safety ceremony for the start of construction work of the Tahara Biomass Power Plant (hereinafter "the power plant") today at the site in Tahara City, Aichi Prefecture. 

The safety ceremony was attended by a total of 70 people, including the mayor of Tahara City, local government officials, construction-related companies, and the TBP's investors: Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. (JAPEX), SHIZUOKA GAS AND POWER, TOKYO ENERGY & SYSTEMS INC., KAWASAKI KINKAI KISEN KAISHA, LTD., DAIICHI JITSUGYO CO., LTD., Iwatani Corporation, and Solariant Capital LLC. 

The power plant is a biomass power generation plant constructed in approximately 45,000m2 of the Tahara 4th district in a coastal area of Tahara City, with an output scale is 50,000kW. It is fueled by wood pellets 100% and plans to generate approximately 350 million kWh per year. All amount of electricity generated in the power plant will be sold to The Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. by FIT system. 

The commencement of commercial operation for the power plant is planned in April, 2025. JAPEX, collaborating with TBP and other investors, will contribute to expanding the use of electricity from renewable energy sources with low environmental impact and developing local economies with the understanding and support of stakeholders in the surrounding area.
