JAPEX Group to Donate to Victims by the devastating wildfires in Alberta, Canada

Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "JAPEX") expresses its heartfelt sorriness for all those affected by the devastating wildfires in Fort McMurray area of Alberta, Canada that have been continuing since May 1, 2016.

In an effort to support rescue and relief operations as well as provide reconstruction assistance to devastated areas, JAPEX and Japan Canada Oil Sands Limited (hereinafter "JACOS"), a consolidated subsidiary of JAPEX that has been conducting Oil Sands Project in Hangingstone area at south-southwest of Fort McMurray area, decided to provide monetary donations of 150,000 Canadian Dollar through the Canadian Red Cross, etc.

JAPEX group expresses its deepest sympathies to all those affected by the wildfire and extends its best wishes for speedy recovery and reconstruction.

As for JACOS' bitumen production operation at Hangingstone Demonstration Project area (hereinafter "Demo area") and construction works to expand the production in undeveloped part of the Hangingstone area adjacent to Demo area, all employees and contractors are safe and there is no damage on the facilities at the moment.
