Establishment of the Organization for Environmental Business Promotion

Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. (JAPEX, headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director and President: Masahiro Fujita) will establish Environmental Business Promotion Dept. on January 1, 2021. This department aims to accelerate the environment-related businesses to contribute carbon-neutral and low-carbonization/decarbonization.

Environmental Business Promotion Dept. will become an independent organization from Technology Division and will be responsible for considering the business commercialization in the environmental technology area. This department is expected to act actively and rapidly, for the early realization of the business concerning technology utilization of carbon dioxide and hydrogen, particularly in CCS^*1, CCUS^*2, and carbon recycling.
