Start of Operation of Solar Power Generation Facility at JAPEX's Hokkaido District Office

Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. ("JAPEX") is pleased to announce that a solar power generation facility (hereinafter referred to as the "mega-solar power station") located at its Hokkaido District Office in Tomakomai City, Hokkaido, is starting commercial operation today (August 1). 

JAPEX has been constructing the mega-solar power station since September 2013 in order to effectively utilize unused space at the Hokkaido District Office.

The mega-solar power station will generate approximately 2.5 million kilowatt-hours/year, equivalent to the annual power consumption of around 700 households, all of which will be sold to Hokkaido Electric Power Co., Inc. 

JAPEX regards the environment and innovative technology business as a pillar of its growth strategy, and it will expand its renewable energy business in addition to the main business E&P of oil and natural gas.
