Hokkaido LNG Plant
Hokkaido LNG Plant can provide the services as a secondary base to ensure the sales expansion and stable supply of natural gas in Hokkaido, by receiving, storing, vaporizing LNG, and delivering the vaporized LNG to the gas consumers via our owned pipelines in Hokkaido, along with natural gas produced at Yufutsu oil and gas field.

Overview of the Plant
Hokkaido LNG Plant has two major functions; one is LNG receiving and regasification, as a secondary base subsequent to primal large-scale LNG terminals, such as the Soma LNG Terminal, and the other is natural gas liquefaction, to convert the produced natural gas into a liquid phase for storage in the tank to absorb the gas demand fluctuation.
As for LNG receiving and regasification function, LNG is mainly delivered via coastal vessels from the Soma LNG Terminal, and the received LNG is vaporized and supplied to the consumers via our owned gas pipeline network in Hokkaido, after mixing our produced natural gas and LPG to adjust the heat value as needed. As for natural gas reliquefaction, that is the only gas liquefaction plant in Japan, so that we can better adapt to seasonal wide fluctuations in demand with minimal impact on oil and gas production activities at the field.
