Resume of Operation in the Fukushima Natural Gas Power Plant and Fuel Supply to the Power Plant
Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. (JAPEX) announced that Fukushima Gas Power Co., Ltd. (FGP, 33% of our owned share) had resumed the operation of Fukushima Natural Gas Power Plant (hereinafter the "FGP plant") by March 20, 2022. The FGP plant is located in Shinchi-machi, Soma County, Fukushima Prefecture, and had been suspended operation due to the earthquake that occurred off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture on March 16, 2022.
In addition, JAPEX resumed supplying regasified gas from liquefied natural gas (LNG) for fuel to the FGP plant on March 19, from our Soma LNG Terminal located in Shichi-machi, Soma County, Fukushima prefecture.
JAPEX will continue to work on the operation of the Soma LNG terminal placing the highest priority on safety, and contribute the stable operation of the FGP plant.
