Notice to Fraudulent Contacts Pretending Affiliations with JAPEX
Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. (JAPEX) has recently recognized several cases concerning fraudulent contacts from persons pretending affiliations with JAPEX. Please be aware that JAPEX and its group companies (hereinafter "the JAPEX group") are not related to the following examples.
1. Fraud by indicating a fictitious business relationship with JAPEX
We have recognized a fraud trying to deceive money by showing a fraudulent contract in English and pretending to have a business relationship with JAPEX.
The fraudulent contract stated the fictitious works of crude oil tanks and pipelines in the Tokyo undertaking from JAPEX, with the several description that is different from our accurate information.
The JAPEX group has no relationship with the fraudulent contract and with the person who showed the fraudulent document concerning the business with us.
2. Bank transfer fraud pretending to be the person concerned with JAPEX
We have recognized a fraud trying to deceive money by pretending a worker in the JAPEX site and asking an immediate advance payment of a business-related expense.
The JAPEX group is not related to the person who contacted with such matters.
