Impact of Typhoon No.19 / Hagibis

Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. (JAPEX) expresses its deepest sympathies to all those affected by Typhoon No.19 / Hagibis, which struck Japan on October 12 to 13, 2019.

There have been no severe damages or effects by typhoon Hagibis to our facilities for oil and natural gas production as well as natural gas supply, which are located in the affected areas, including Niigata, Fukushima, Yamagata, and Miyagi Prefectures. With confirmation of safety and security, JAPEX has been stably continuing the operations of our facilities for oil and gas production at our bases in Niigata, natural gas supply to clients through our gas pipeline network mainly consisting of Niigata-Sendai natural gas pipeline (Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture - Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture), and sending LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) vaporized gas from Soma LNG Terminal to the gas pipeline network.

In addition, Nagaoka District Office (Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture) is in the usual operation. Also, Soma District Office (Shinchi Town, Soma County, Fukushima Prefecture) is operating as usual, although it is affected by water interruption.

JAPEX will continue to stable energy supply in Japan, with "safety is our top priority."
