Changes of Organization

Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. (JAPEX) announces it will change its organization on April 1, 2026, as follows: 

１．Reorganization regarding Overseas Business Division

JAPEX will reorganize its current two-division structure, "Overseas Business Division I" and "Overseas Business Division II", into single division structure "Overseas Business Division" to unify the decision-making line for all overseas business, to accelerate business execution in each region (U.S., Europe/Middle East, Asia), and to enhance organization in response for prioritized resource allocation with a long-term, company-wide optimization perspective. The departments within the division will be reorganized into regionally organized "Americas Business Dept.," "Europe & Middle East Business Dept.," and "Asia Business Dept." and establish "Overseas Business Management Dept."

２．Establishment of the Digital Management Dept.

JAPEX will separate DX and IT functions from the current "Corporate Strategy Dept." and will establish the "Digital Management Dept." ｔo optimize organizational scale for DX and IT related business and to address various company-wide, cross-functional challenges in an integrated and efficient manner.

３．Establishment of the Legal Office and Integration of the Secretary Office and the Administration & Legal Dept.

JAPEX will separate legal functions from the current "Administration & Legal Dept." and will establish "Legal Office" to strengthen legal support functions in light of business expansion. Additionally, to streamline operational efficiency, JAPEX will integrate the current "Secretary Office" and the administration functions of "Administration & Legal Department," and to rename the combined unit "Administration Dept."

４．Reorganization regarding the Marketing & Sales Division

JAPEX will abolish the current "Sendai Liaison Office" and will newly establish the "Sendai Area Marketing & Sales Office" to strengthen sales functions in the Sendai metropolitan area. Furthermore, to consolidate sales functions outside the Sendai metropolitan area, the current "Marketing & Sales Dept. I" and "Marketing & Sales Dept. II" will be integrated into "Marketing & Sales Dept." Additionally, "Marketing & Sales Dept. III," which handles solution sales, will be renamed "Marketing & Sales Development Dept" and "Hokkaido Marketing & Sales Office" will be abolished.

５．Renamed the LNG Marketing and Procurement Office

JAPEX will rename the "LNG Marketing and Procurement Office" to the "LNG Marketing and Procurement Dept." to address expanded business including LNG cargo procurement and LNG cargo receiving operations.
