JAPEX, through its local subsidiary JAPEX Norge AS (J Norge), has engaged in exploration, development and production of several blocks in offshore Norway. Japex is considering acquiring new interests.

History

May 2023: Agreed with U.K. -based Longboat Energy plc for capital participation in its Norwegian subsidiary, Longboat Energy Norge AS
July 2023: Completed capital participation to Longboat Energy Norge AS, its corporate name changed to Longboat JAPEX Norge AS (LJN)
June 2024: Acquired all shares (51%) of LJN from Longboat Energy plc, making Longboat JAPEX Norge AS a wholly owned subsidiary of JAPEX
July 2024: Acquisition of LJN shares completed and company name changed to JAPEX Norge AS (J Norge) following approval from Norwegian authorities to become a subsidiary of LJN.
July 2025: Agree to swap J Norge's exploration and development assets with development assets held by Aker BP ASA, a major oil and gas company in the Kingdom of Norway.
January 2026: Acquisition of exploration assets through the Awards in Pre-defined Areas round licensing system for exploration assets by Norwegian government.
