I was born in New Delhi and studied mathematics at the Indian Institutes of Technology. I then came to Japan where I majored in International Relations at the International University of Japan. My master’s degree was on investment and trade between Japan and India.
Why did I decide to join JAPEX? The answer to that question would be in the first year of my postgraduate course. I joined JAPEX’s internship program in 2012, where I spent most of the 2 months at the Human Resources Department. I did research on the standard HR strategy of many companies from both Japan and India, and I also got to make suggestions to the company. Not only was JAPEX a very interesting subject of study, but the people I met here were very kind. I also liked the JAPEX atmosphere very much.
Afterward, when I had to make up my mind as to which company to join, I realized that I loved my time being at JAPEX. I applied right away, and -to my delight- got hired soon after.
A year has passed since I entered JAPEX. So far, I have been involved in 2 missions. Firstly, I am in charge of the recruitment of foreign students. I am engaged in the whole recruitment process, from visiting universities, arranging company seminars, to doing interviews. As a result, JAPEX managed to hire students from Mongolia and South Korea.
Secondly, I am in charge of matters related to the overseas training programs of the employees and the company-wide English training program. I am involved in the selection of trainees to the arrangement of the training program and the final reporting. I also prepare English speaking programs by getting JAPEX employees to speak with overseas bilingual teachers via Skype.
Both of these missions will push JAPEX to becoming a truly global company
Many successful global companies promote diversity, where nationality, gender, religion or race has nothing to do with work. As an E&P company looking to enlarge its global business, JAPEX is actively promoting diversity. The very fact that I got hired is proof of this trend.
As the first generation of foreign student recruitment, I feel a responsibility to contribute to JAPEX’s globalization by foreign student recruitment and English education. Luckily, I am given a big job to realize just that. My boss takes time to listen to my opinion. Every morning I wake up, I feel a sense of uplift when going to work. With my contribution, hopefully JAPEX employees will soon be doing business in every corner of the world.
