Kangean Project

In Kangean Project, development and production of mainly natural gas is conducted in Kangean Block located in East Java, Indonesia, and JAPEX has been participating from 2007. Currently, natural gas is produced from TSB gas complex and Pagerungan gas field. Produced gas is mainly processed at the floating production unit (FPU) and is supplied to a national fertilizer plant, a national electric company, and others near Surabaya in East Java.

TSB gas field complex which is the main producer of the block consists of the three gas fields, which are Terang, Sirasun, and Batur, located offshore, 90 kilometers north of Bali island, with water depth of 90 to 230 meters. Sirasun and Batur gas fields commenced production in March 2019 and are planned to produce 5.0-5.1 million cubic meters per day (175-180 million cubic feet per day) of natural gas. Together with Terang gas field which commenced production in May 2012, these gas fields will continue dedication to stable supply of natural gas in the local area.
